The Thumbsucking Clinic respects your rights and privacy. Our clinic endeavours to protect you and your child through strict confidentiality. As such, we have this policy in place to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy.

Any information collected by The Thumbsucking Clinic is obtained with consent for the purpose of providing assessment and therapy for your child. Personal information, such as your name, address, medical and banking details are used for the purpose of addressing accounts, processing payments, and contacting you regarding our services and your child’s therapy.

We may disclose you or your child’s information to other health care professionals, or require information from them if it is necessary in the context of you or your child’s assessment and therapy. Disclosure will not be made without your prior consent.

We may ask to use your child’s information in our professional research and for education for other health professionals.  We will only do this with your signed consent.

We will only disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. This means it will only be disclosed if:

  • We have your consent;
  • We are required by law to disclose it; or
  • It is otherwise permitted under the Act.
